Welcome

I am a freelance saxophonist/flutist and drummer in the San Francisco Bay Area. I specialize in R&B ,Soul, Funk, Jazz, Rock, Reggae, New Orleans and related styles.

My career has taken me worldwide, recording and touring with David Bowie, Luther Vandross, Laura Nyro, Chic and many others. I have been fortunate to perform nationwide from Carnegie Hall in New York City to the Kennedy Center in Washington DC to the Grammys in Los Angeles. I have also toured overseas and played the Montreux (France) Jazz Festival, the Pori (Finland) Jazz Festival, Riio de Janeiro (Brazil) Festival, and many others.

Below you can see the several bands I currently lead and play with. I teach private saxophone and flute lessons and direct two annual jazz camps.

I love to give my all and wail onstage, and am always looking for new musicians to work with.

Cheers, Jean

From The Press

Gifted saxophonist Jean Fineberg’s skill and musicality on tenor and flute were obvious. Her sound is strong-toned, vigorous, intense and technically accomplished. She is potentially a major player with a distinctive personal presence.
